Detailed Itinerary
DAY 01Arrival in Leh
Upon arrival at Leh Airport (11,000 ft), you will be received by our representative and transferred to the hotel. Since you are arriving at high altitude, we strongly recommend taking complete rest and drinking plenty of water today to get acclimatized. Do not indulge in strenuous activity. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 02Leh Local Sightseeing - Sham Valley
After breakfast, drive along the Indus River to Sangam (confluence of Zanskar & Indus rivers). En route, visit the Hall of Fame (Kargil War Museum), Magnetic Hill (where cars appear to roll uphill), and Gurdwara Pathar Sahib. Later, visit Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace and the local market. Return to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 03Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La
Cross Khardung La (5,359 m), one of the world's highest motorable roads. Enjoy an ATV ride in Nubra (direct payment). Visit Diskit Monastery. In the evening, visit Hunder sand dunes to spot the double-humped Bactrian camels (camel ride on direct payment). Overnight stay in Nubra.
DAY 04Nubra to Pangong Lake
Leave after breakfast for Pangong Lake (14,500 ft) via Agham & Shyok villages (165km). Enjoy the high-altitude saltwater lake, popular with Bollywood movies. Overnight at camp/hotel. (Note: In peak summer if Shayok road is closed, we will use Warila/Changla detour which adds ~80km and extra cost).
DAY 05Pangong to Leh via Changla
Watch the sunrise at the lake, have breakfast, then drive back to Leh via Changla Pass (5,486 m). Optional stop at Thiksey Monastery before reaching Leh. Evening is free to explore the Leh market. Overnight stay in Leh.
DAY 06Departure from Leh
Early breakfast, transfer to Leh airport for your onward travel.
